We recently attended and participated at U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)'s Strategic Marketing Workshop at the Brooklyn Lodge in Pretoria, the workshop was aimed at strategizing on campaigns to reach more men living with HIV and improve client treatment initiation and retention among men in South Africa.

At this workshop, different organisations shared strategies implemented in government facilities to reach targets and ultimately which have been a success. Johnson and Johnson (J&J) presented Project Last Mile's findings from a market segmentation analysis around men that involves mass communications and in-facility strategies. A team of marketing leaders from PEPFAR, Gilead Sciences, and Johnson & Johnson were also participating in the workshop to share best practice used private industry. Information and strategies shared and gathered during the workshop will be considered by PEPFAR for implementation in current and future projects.

Whilst at the workshop, the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) distributed existing digital and printed Zenzele IEC materials (Living with HIV Brochures covering the following topics: Treatment, Adherence, Disclosure, Prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, Love & Sex, Nutrition & Lifestyle, Adolescents & HIV, and Ageing with HIV) to delegates. Some organizations showed interest to reprint the pamphlets for distribution in the areas that they operate. These pamphlets are also downloadable from the downloads tab on the website. Please contact us for printing guidelines, should you wish to print the pamphlets.
